" Defending the Eyrie"
This site is open to all ADG's who have as a mininium completed a RAAF Airfield Defence Guard Basic training course, no requirement has been imposed as to active service or requirement to join the RAAF Airfield Defence Association

Airfield Defence Wing. AFDW commands No 2 and 3 Airfield Defence Squadron (at Amberley) and No 1 Airfield Defence Squadron (at Edinburgh). The role of these units is to provide the protection for installations and personnel against enemy ground forces, dissidents and terrorists. No 3 Airfield Defence Squadron personnel are primarily RAAF reserve.

2 Airfield Defence Squadron and 3 Airfield Defence Squadron. 2AFDS & 3AFDS are rapidly deployable tactical units which enable the RAAF to meet its single, joint or combined service commitments for ground defence, protection and security of installations, and early warning and reaction forces.

Glenn Lyons We need to embrace these guys and bring them back into the fold. It's important that they realise their service is not forgotten. Otherwise we stand the risk of losing a significant part of our history... for ever. It may not mean a lot to most Ex ADG's... but it means a lot to me.
