I’ve seen this guy before, on the ANZMI site

HI POM.    THIS IS JOE LUDWIG, I WOULD LIKE YOU TO INCLUDE ME IN THE 9 SQN
GUNNERS LIST, A118857  JOE LUDWIG   01MAR 71 - 11SEP71. ALSO MY E MAIL
ADDRESS HAS CHANGED. THANKS , AND HELLO TO ALL THE BOYS.

Joe Ludwig
Medal of Honor Winner

You're a 19 year old kid.

You're critically wounded and dying in the jungle in the Ia Drang Valley ,on  11-14-1965, LZ X-ray , Vietnam .
Your infantry unit is outnumbered 8 - 1 and the enemy fire is so intense, from 100 or 200 yards away, that your own Infantry Commander has ordered the MediVac helicopters to stop coming in.
You're lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns and you know you're not getting out.

Your family is 1/2 way around the world, 12,000 miles away and you'll never see them again.

As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day.   Then - over the machine gun noise - you faintly hear that sound of a helicopter..!!

You look up to see an un-armed Huey!! But..... it doesn't seem real because no Medi-Vac markings are on it.

Ed Freeman is coming for you..!!

He's not Medi-Vac so it's not his job, but he's flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire anyway. Even after the Medi-Vacs were ordered not to come.

He's coming anyway.

And he drops it in and sits there in the machine gun fire, as they load 2 or 3 of you on board.

Then he flies you up and out through the gunfire to the Doctors and Nurses.

And, he kept coming back..!! 13 more times..!!

He took about 30 of you and your buddies out who would never have gotten out.

Medal of Honor Recipient, Ed Freeman, died last Wednesday 20/8/2008 at the age of 80, in Boise , ID

May God Rest His Soul.

I bet you didn't hear about this hero's passing, but we've sure seen a whole bunch about Michael Jackson, Farah Fawcett, and Steve McNair passing..!!

Medal of Honor Winner   Ed Freeman!

Shame on the American Media..!!

Dear Service Colleagues and Friends of Cpl David Dubber

I am writing to you all to say Thank you!

When we first contacted Steve Hartigan we were hoping to get 1 or 2 responses from people that may have known Cpl David Dubber, the response received was truly amazing!

Thank you for taking the time to either write and/or telephoned us. The information, photos, maps and real life accounts of your experiences you have shared with us is humbling. It has made the telling of Cpl Dubber’s story so much more personal.

Nik departs for Vietnam this Friday, September 17 and returns home Saturday, October 2.  He is both excited and apprehensive leading up to his trip.  He has done a lot of study in regard to Vietnam and, after talking with yourselves and reading your letters/emails, has a better understanding of your experiences together in Vietnam and the union this has formed between you all.

Thank you. Because of everything that has been sent and the work that Nik has put into telling Cpl Dubber’s story, Nik has been chosen to be the Master of Ceremonies at their commemoration service which is to be held at Long Tan. I know that Nik will honour Cpl Dubbers memory as well as pay respect to the sacrifices all of you made during your service in Vietnam.

Should you wish, Nik would love to send you a copy of his report on their study tour of Vietnam along with some photos of his trip.

Thank you again

Kindest regards

Hi all

Thought I should pass this on for those who are interested. Several of the Aircrew guys have had enough of our political parties the way they stand at the moment and intend to form our own party, anyone that's interested should read the preamble on the Airman Aircrew site at
www.airmanaircrew.com under APP (Australian Patriot Party) on the message board.
John McCosker (below) seems to be the contact guy if your interested.
